Our History

We have consolidated as one of the main pineapple production companies in this cultivation, in the most important region of Mexico since our establishment in 1972. Kiana Produce was born in 2017 due to a higher positioning and penetration strategy into the national and international markets.

Kiana Produce was born in 2017 before a strategy of a greater penetration and positioning of our company into the national and North American market.

In 1972, we settled in the Southern area of the state of Veracruz, considered as the most important region of Mexico in pineapple production. That year, the project started with a farm of 10 production hectares of Cayena Lisa; in about 8 years, 100 hectares of cultivated area were reached. For a long time, all our production was exclusively commercialized between Mexico City and Guadalajara.

To the business needs, we started Amador Russell SPR de RL in 1985, which was the name of the company for more than 30 years.

In 1994, we began to experiment with the introduction of the hybrid MD2, or Pineapple Honey, in our farms. It was an adaptation, updating and implementation of technologies process where intensive vegetative production and technological packages programs were applied for the cultivation of this new variety, in order to accelerate the replacement process. In 1998, the goal was achieved and the hybrid MD2 fully substituted the varieties of Cayena Lisa and Champaka in our farms.

We have about 1,200 hectares of cultivated area.

We package 300 containers per month.

In 2007, our exportation process to the United States of America started in association with the company La más Dorada, and through this trade partner, we arrived at the states of Texas, Arizona and New Mexico.

Before our more growing penetration in the North American market, and aware of the impact of the pineapple cultivation, we started an environmental care program by the implementation of protected environments programs in our farms in 2008.

Our package has a 2,500 square meters capacity.

We export to more than 40 cities in the US and Canada.

In 2010, we decided to become independent and we built the packing Isla Bonita, a plant of 2,500 square meters with the capacity of packaging 300 containers per month, with cutting-edge pre-cooling tunnels and refrigeration chambers to guarantee the quality of our product to our consumers.

In the same year, we built an alliance with the marketer Chula Brand, with which we expanded our distribution scope to the states of Illinois, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Minnesota, Indianapolis, New York, Philadelphia and the Quebec-Ontario region of Canada.

During the periods of 2007 and 2012, we got the Global GAP, SENASICA SRRC, and México Calidad Suprema certifications, which support us as a company concerned about environment, as well as the excellence of our product.Early 2016, our scope is extended with a second distribution point in the city of San Diego, California. With this, we covered the entire West Coast of the United States, bringing our pineapples to more than 40 cities in North America.

The year 2016 became an important one for us. Before our frank growth, we started an important update of the packing Isla Bonita with a manual line migration to a computerized sorting machine for a greater production, and at the same time, a considerable expansion of our cold chamber for storage.

Our working methodology strengthened as a primary piece for prospering, thanks to that, we have consolidated as one of the main pineapple production companies in this cultivation in the most important region of Mexico since our establishment in 1972.
