Since 1972

Since our inception, we have worked to establish ourselves as one of the leading pineapple producers in Mexico's main pineapple-growing region. Thanks to a vision focused on innovation, quality, and continuous growth, Kiana Produce emerged in 2017, marking a new stage of development and market positioning both nationally and internationally.

Our story began in 1972 in southern Veracruz state, one of the country's most traditional and important pineapple-producing regions. We started operations with a 10-hectare farm dedicated to growing Smooth Cayenne pineapples, and in less than a decade, we expanded our production area to 100 hectares. During those years, our production was primarily sold in the markets of Mexico City and Guadalajara.

In 2010, we built the Isla Bonita packing facility, a modern 2,500-square-meter facility with the capacity to process up to 300 containers per month. Equipped with state-of-the-art pre-cooling systems and refrigeration chambers, this complex allows us to preserve the quality and freshness of our fruit throughout the entire logistics process.

In 1994, we began introducing the MD2 hybrid, known as Honey Pineapple, to our plantations. This process involved significant technological and production changes, including intensive plant breeding programs and the adoption of new agricultural practices. By 1998, the MD2 hybrid had completely replaced the Smooth Cayenne and Champaka varieties on our farms.

In 1972 we settled in the southern part of Veracruz.

In 2007, we began exporting to the United States in partnership with La Más Dorada. Thanks to this collaboration, our pineapples started reaching markets such as Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico.

As we strengthened our presence in North America, we also reinforced our environmental commitment. Therefore, in 2008 we launched programs focused on protecting and conserving the natural environment within our production facilities.

That same year we established a business alliance with Chula Brand, expanding our coverage to important markets in Illinois, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Minnesota, Indianapolis, New York, Philadelphia and the Quebec-Ontario region in Canada.

Between 2007 and 2012 we obtained certifications such as Global GAP, SENASICA SRRC and Mexico Calidad Suprema, recognitions that support our commitment to quality, safety and sustainability.

In 2016, we expanded our commercial infrastructure with a second distribution center in San Diego, California. This expansion allowed us to serve the entire West Coast of the United States and deliver our pineapples to more than 40 cities across North America.

That same year, we undertook a major modernization of the Isla Bonita packing facility, replacing manual processes with automated, computerized sorting systems. Simultaneously, we increased our cold storage capacity to meet sustained demand growth.

Our work philosophy, based on continuous improvement and operational excellence, has been fundamental to our development. Thanks to this, since 1972 we have maintained a leading position within the Mexican pineapple industry.

With the creation of Kiana Produce in 2017, we consolidated a new corporate identity focused on strengthening our presence in the national and international markets.

We currently have approximately 1,200 hectares in production and over 100 hectares dedicated to environmental conservation. Furthermore, we actively participate in research, validation, and technology transfer projects that promote increasingly efficient and environmentally friendly agriculture.
